Winter Glacier Activities

Matanuska Glacier Winter Tours

Departures: 11:00 AM or 2:00 PM (Call to schedule.)

Cost: $100 per person.

           Alaskan Residents of at least one year are eligible for a special rate. (call for pricing) You may sponsor ONE guest that is either of relation or close friend for the special rate as long as resident is present and participating in the tour.

Included: All fees & equipment including crampons, helmets, and hiking sticks. Our crampons fit sizes from youth size 1 through adult men's size 16.

Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours (depending on conditions)

What to Bring:

During the winter months, we suggest you dress in layers. This includes wearing base layers, insulated pants, a heavy jacket, warm gloves/hat, sunglasses, as well as supportive and insulated snow boots or hiking boots. Be sure to check the weather before your trek and dress appropriately, especially taking wind chill into consideration.

Description:

Join one of our guides on a once-in-a-lifetime excursion from the lodge out to the terminus of the Matanuska Glacier. Guides will narrate the tour, share their knowledge and are more than happy to stop for photos along the way.

All levels of ability are welcome and accommodated during a Winter Tour, including those unable to walk.
